Meet The Crew
TowboatUS Boston, Beverly and Newburyport employs a dozen professional mariners. All of our captains are licensed by the United States Coast Guard and have years of experience navigating our local waters.
Owner, Mike Goodridge, grew up boating and diving in the Merrimack River area. In the late 70's he obtained his diving Instructor rating and spent 5 seasons in the Cayman Islands.
At the urging of a friend who thought he would be "perfect for the job" Mike started Marine Services, Inc. in 1983 when the Coast Guard announced its new towing policy. Mike later partnered with BoatU.S. to become a part of their nationwide towing network. Since then, Marine Services has grown to a fleet of seven vessels with 3 locations performing about 1,000 calls for assistance a year.
